GTBank Fashion Weekend 2018: Redefining femininity through Sukeina

The GTBank Fashion Wknd began yesterday and although there were lots of amazing masterclasses and lots of things to buy, the highlight for me was the Runway Show.

The Runway show for the first day had some of my faves like Ituen Basi and Adama Paris showcasing delightful looks I would totally love to try out. I gained a new favourite today; Sukeina. This New York based label whose designer is Omar Salem, wowed me.

I was impressed by all that sassiness that screams, I am here to seduce the hell out of you.

Sukeina showcased women as powerful in their feminine essence through this super sexy collection dominated by blacks and reds. If I am asked to give a name to the collection, I would call it “Sultry”. The mood music by Sade Adu and the way the models wielded their bodies like weapons in a war we were unaware was being fought told a unique story.

I am definitely now a fan, and I am somehow looking forward to owning my first Sukeina piece because I need all that sensual energy in my life.
